Rene comes to Channel 9 Eyewitness News from KFOX-TV in
El Paso, Texas. While at KFOX Rene served as a news/ sports reporter.Rene has a Broadcast Journalism degree from Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico.Rene began his broadcasting career as an 11 year-old disc jockey in this hometown of El Paso, Texas. During his career, Rene has won numerous Associated Press awards, including those from the Texas Associated Press as well as the New Mexico Associated Press.Rene is a huge music fan as evidenced by a few Beatles inspired tattoos. He currently lives in the Charlotte area.Se Habla Español
