Dear WSOC-TV and WAXN-TV viewer,

I am happy to let you know that WSOC-TV and WAXN-TV have installed and are operating a translator from the top of Crowder’s Mountain, west of Gastonia, NC. WSOC-TV can be seen in HD on Channel 9.5 and WAXN-TV can be seen on Channel 64.5. The translator covers Gaston, Lincoln, and Cleveland counties in North Carolina and York county in South Carolina and it will help boost our signals. In order for your converter box to find the new translator’s signals, you will need to have your converter box re-scanned

This is part of our continuing effort to help our off-air viewers. We hope you enjoy watching your favorite ABC Primetime programs, Oprah and Eyewitness News on WSOC-TV and Judge Joe, SEC College Sports and Action News at 10pm on WAXN TV once again. If you have a digital converter box, please re-scan so your converter box will once again find our stations.

If you have any questions or you are still having trouble receiving our signals, then please contact me or Elaine Farias at 704-335-4786. Thank you for watching WSOC-TV and WAXN-TV.

Yours truly,

Joe Pomilla
General Manager

Eyewitness News Bureaus

About Our News Bureaus
WSOC-TV's commitment to the communities we serve in our 22 county viewing area is evident in our coverage. We have four local news bureaus -- whose mission it is to report the news that is happening and that is important to those communities. Our bureau reporters and photographers live in the communities they serve.

Washington, D.C. Bureau

About Our Washington Bureau
The Channel 9 Eyewitness News Washington Bureau is your direct link to the news and issues that effect you in the nation's capital. The bureau's reporters take you inside the process -- cut through the political jargon -- and bring you the stories that count, giving you one-on-one access to local lawmakers and tracking the issues that matter here at home. Our team of Washington reporters sifts through the mountain of legislation to find what hits home for Carolinians and brings you that custom coverage live, local, and late breaking every day.
