Toyota is known worldwide for their incredible philanthropic efforts. Their dedicated to community, the youth, the planet, and many more causes. One of their most popular and well-liked efforts is undoubtedly the 100 Cars for Good initiative, which gives non-profits all over the country a shot to drive home in a brand new Toyota! In fact, a local animal shelter was the recipient here in NC a few years ago, and Toyota of N Charlotte was lucky enough to hand over the keys to their new Toyota Highlander!
Non-profits can win a multitude of new Toyota near Charlotte
100 Cars for Good is a nationwide contest that calls for non-profits to enter for their chance to win a new mode of transportation. Often, these organizations don’t have the funds to purchase a new vehicle and have to make do with whatever they can find. However, 100 Cars for Good puts them in the driver’s seat of a variety of different new Toyota near Charlotte – they can then choose which is best suited to their mission! This year, non-profits can choose between:
- Toyota Sienna
- Toyota Sienna Mobility
- Toyota Prius
- Toyota Highlander
- Toyota Tundra
This way, each non-profit can decide which new Toyota in N Charlotte is best for their practices and purposes.
While the public voting for 100 Cars for Good doesn’t start until October, non-profits can start submitting their applications to win a new Toyota fairly soon and official voting by the designated panel will begin in August. 2,500 applicants will enter, and the panel will then whittle those applications down to 250!
This is where it gets interesting, and where your part in the whole process comes in! Each day for 50 days, five organizations will be up for your vote. Voting will take place on the Toyota Facebook app for 100 Cars for good, and at the end of the day the two organizations with the most support will each get to choose a car! 50 days = 100 cars, and a whole lot of happy non-profits.
Toyota of N Charlotte presents animal rescue with Toyota Highlander
At Toyota of N Charlotte, we love the entire 100 Cars for Good program. Like we said, in 2011 we were lucky enough to present a new Toyota Highlander to the North Mecklenburg Animal Rescue; they use it to transport animals to and from their vet appointments and adoption fairs, and to drop them off at their new forever homes. Our sister store, Toyota of Orlando, recently presented the keys to a Toyota Sienna to a foster youth organization in Central Florida! As a whole, we’re dedicated to giving back to the community, and that’s why we believe so strongly in efforts like 100 Cars for Good!
