Stonewall St. changes during DNC

There will be several changes to Stonewall St. traffic during the Democratic National Convention.

  • Stonewall St. will become a one-way street between Caldwell St. and Tryon St. from 5 a.m. through 3 p.m. on Tuesday, September 4th, Wednesday, September 5th, and Thursday, September 6th.  Only westbound traffic (heading toward Bank of America Stadium) will be allowed.  Eastbound traffic (heading away from the stadium) should use Church St. (right) to Morehead St. (left) to McDowell St. (left) as an alternate route.

Most other nearby streets will also be closed due to the Democratic National Convention.  If traveling toward the Bank of America Stadium area, use Tryon St. (left) to West Blvd. (right) to I-77 North to Trade St./Exit 10 (right) as an alternate route.  If traveling away from the Bank of America Stadium area, use Trade St. to I-77 South to West Blvd./Exit 9 (turn left) to South Tryon St. (turn left) as an alternate route.
