Germany's Oldest Christmas Market Opens
With a fanfare worthy of a 2,012-millimeter-long Striezel Christmas cake, Dresden's oldest Christmas market or "Striezelmarkt" gets underway. The city's mayor is the first to taste the traditional cake, which is made from flour, sugar, butter, Jamaican rum and raisins.
