Rebels Battle For Damascus Checkpoint
Heavy fighting hits a ring road on the outskirts of central Damascus, as Syrian government forces try to halt a rebel advance. This amateur footage, which cannot be independently verified, is said to show a checkpoint in Jobar on Thursday (February 7). Opposition fighters say government warplanes bombarded the area. For more than 36 hours rebels have overrun army positions encircling the heart of the city. This footage shows the fighters moving into Jobar on Wednesday (February 6).
