Dry weather for part of the weekend
The rain from last night and early this morning has moved out and we will see plenty of sunshine for the rest of the day but the rain chance is not completely done just yet. We need to wait for the cold front to pass us by this afternoon before we can completely get rid of the rain. I do expect at least a scattered shower or thunderstorm to fire up today along the front. A few isolated downpours can't be ruled out either. The winds will also be kicking up this afternoon as the front passes. Gusts may reach up to 30 mph in a few spots. The mountains may see even higher gusts. The front and rain should be passed us by this evening's outdoor plans.Saturday looks to be a beautiful day with sunny skies and mild temperatures in the mid to upper 70s. So no weather troubles whatsoever for the Sprint All Star Race out at Lowes Motor Speedway. By Sunday though, a weak front will arrive bring another shot at rainfall and maybe a few thunderstorms again.~Meteorologist Keith Monday~
