Fall 2008's March Toward Record Cold
November 2008 has come and gone and has earned its spot in history: we have just made it past the 3rd coldest November in Charlotte history! It was just a little bit warmer than a typical December. And there's no signs of stopping this cold snap. A cold front arriving on Thursday will keep us well below normal for this week, making it the fourth straight week of below normal temperatures. After we conclude this week, we have just a few more weeks before winter officially begins. So far, this fall has been the second coldest autumn in Charlotte history with an average temperature of 55. Did you know the coldest autumn was back in 1976 with an average temperature of 52? If we stay on this cold road, we have a shot of breaking that!~ Meteorologist John Ahrens ~
