Rapidly falling temperatures Friday night may have allowed some wet road surfaces to freeze. This is particularly likely on bridges and other elevated road decks. Light snow showers also developed overnight near the Tennessee border, which has covered some roads in that area in snow. For these reasons, drivers are urged to exercise extreme caution if taking to the road this morning. Flurries are expected to continue through midday, when skies will also begin to clear and sunlight will help melt any snow or ice covering the roads. $$
