Earthquake reported near downtown Augusta

An earthquake was reported near Augusta, Georgia early Monday afternoon.

The National Earthquake Information Center in Golden, Colorado confirms an earthquake measuring a magnitude of 3.2 on the Richter scale was centered just southwest of downtown Augusta, Georgia, roughly 175 miles south of Charlotte.

The depth of this earthquake was measured at 12.9 km. The quake started around 11:14 a.m. Monday.
