• FORECAST: Plenty of sunshine ahead of cloudy start to the workweek

    SUNDAY: A dense fog blanketed the Charlotte area Sunday morning, and there were dense fog advisories in effect for several counties through 9 a.m.

     

     

    After the fog, there will be plenty of sunshine throughout the day.

     

     

    Temperatures will be warmer than Saturday, with highs climbing to around 63 degrees in Charlotte -- higher than the average of 56 degrees this time of year.

    Clouds will thicken up heading into the evening hours ahead of the next frontal system. Some showers will move in overnight into Monday and temperatures will stay mild in the upper 40s.

    LOOKING AHEAD: Clouds will linger through the start of the workweek with a chance of showers each day.

    On Monday, highs will be on the warmer side in the low 60s. That warmth will stick around, with highs expected to reach the mid-70s by the middle of the week -- about 20 degrees warmer than average.
