FORECAST: Warm-up underway ahead of late week wet weather

THURSDAY: Highs will be back in the mid-50s and more cloud cover later in the day.

Showers will return late Thursday night into Friday morning. The wet weather will fall as snow again for the High Country, though only a light accumulation is expected.

The showers will clear out quickly Friday morning and we will remain dry to start the weekend.

Rain returns on Sunday and it looks like another washout. A few areas north of Charlotte into the mountains could have a brief window of a wintry mix early in the day, but that will quickly change over to rain.

SUPER BLUE MOON ECLIPSE: The skies were clear, providing great viewing conditions for the full Super Blue Moon lunar eclipse Wednesday morning.

It was the second full moon of the month (which is called a blue moon), and the moon was at its closest orbit to the Earth (which is called a super moon), and there was a lunar eclipse as well.
