FORECAST: Near-record temps anticipated for Friday

FRIDAY: Temperatures this afternoon will manage to warm into the upper 70s this afternoon, making a run at the record high (80° in 1982). We'll keep sunshine around through the day with a few high clouds through the afternoon hours.

Conditions will stay quiet for Friday evening as temperatures slowly drop into the 50s overnight.

WEEKEND OUTLOOK: Conditions will be split heading into the weekend. First, Saturday will stay warm with temperatures in the mid-70s. Clouds will be around as a front move through, bringing a few showers into the Carolinas. Rain should clear out by Saturday afternoon.

Sunday will be significantly cooler, dropping into the upper 50s to end the weekend. Plan for plenty of sunshine with breezy conditions.

NEXT WEEK: Rain returns as we start the upcoming work week. Umbrellas will be needed Monday through Wednesday as temperatures jump back into the 60-70s.
