WEEKEND WEATHER: Sunny, seasonal weather continues for the Carolinas

Quiet and slightly cooler conditions return just in time for the weekend in the Carolinas. No matter what your outdoor plans may be over the next three days, the forecast is looking fantastic.

Friday

- The Charlotte Fair continues through the weekend. If you are heading out to the Metrolina Expo and Fairgrounds Friday evening, you can plan on leaving the jacket at home. Temperatures will steadily drop into the lower 70s by the end of the night.

- Beach Fest in Matthews begins Friday night at 6:30 p.m. Beautiful weather conditions are expected, with temperatures in the lower 80s for the start of the event. Beach Fest runs until Saturday evening.

- The Charlotte Knights take on the Durham Bulls at 7:05 p.m. at BB&T Ballpark in Uptown. Temperatures for the start of the game will be in the upper 70s, cooling into the lower 70s by the drive home.

Saturday

- The Yard Sale of the Carolinas kicks off bright and early at 7 a.m. in downtown Chesterfield, South Carolina. It will be a pleasant morning to be out, with temps rapidly warming into the 70s with plenty of sun.

- The Charlotte Asian and Dragon Boat Festival runs from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday at Ramsey Creek Park on Lake Norman. Temperatures will start the day in the middle 50s, warming into the lower 80s by Saturday afternoon. Sunscreen and sunglasses will be necessary as plenty of sunshine continues throughout the day.

- Charlotte Take Steps Walk for Crohn's and Colitis begins at 10 a.m. Saturday at Symphony Park. Look for WSOC-TV Daybreak Meteorologist Keith Monday, who will be emceeing the event. There will be a light breeze for those participating, with temperatures in the 60s during the race.

- For any additional races going on this weekend, such as the March for Babies in Charlotte, make sure to pack plenty of water and stay hydrated, as temperatures will quickly climb into the middle 70s by lunchtime.

Sunday

Secret Garden of the Fourth Ward Tour runs both Saturday and Sunday from noon until 4 p.m. Fantastic weather is expected both days, with temperatures in the lower 80s on Saturday, middle 70s through Sunday afternoon.

- The Charlotte Knights finish their weekend series against the Durham Bulls Sunday afternoon, with the first pitch at 2:05 p.m. Weather conditions will be quite pleasant, with highs in the middle 70s.
