“We are always looking for ways to give back to our community,” said Barbara Granger, franchise owner of Lizard Thicket. “As a ladies clothing boutique, Steve’s Coats for Kids seemed like a natural fit for us to assist in providing warmth to those in need.”
The Charlotte boutique wants to reward you for giving back. Lizard Thicket, a women’s clothing and accessory boutique, is offering 20 percent off one regularly-priced item to any customer who donates a coat to the Steve’s Coats for Kids drive.
WSOC-TV’s Steve’s Coats for Kids collects coats for local area children who live in need, and the coats are distributed by Crisis Assistance Ministry. In the last 13 years, Steve’s Coats for Kids has collected more than 150,000 coats.
“We want to give children the best opportunity to thrive. Something as small as a warm coat can make a big difference in a child’s life,” Granger said.
Granger expressed how the store’s coat collection is just another way for them to connect with the Charlotte community and uphold the business’s motto: Rooted in style. Growing in purpose.
“Giving back in our own community is instrumental to our business model,” Granger said. “I am a firm believer that with the privilege of owning a business comes responsibility. We have a responsibility to help others.”
From now until Jan. 10, you can donate a new or gently worn coat at Lizard Thicket in Charlotte.
