Carolinas LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce hosts visibility, empowerment event

Tomorrow, the Carolinas LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce will meet for their monthly networking event.

The Chamber will highlight certified LGBT Business Enterprises and begin its campaign to include LGBTBE® certified businesses in the city’s and county’s business inclusion programs.

Currently, the region is certifying approximately 20% of the nation’s certified businesses and continues to build on that number monthly.

The Carolinas LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce was founded in 1992 as the Charlotte Business Guild.

The organization was created to provide a safe space for LGBTQ business owners and professionals to network safely.

The event will showcase thirty to forty of these businesses in hopes to make them more visible and discuss the obstacles they face in contracting. The event is aptly titled “Visibility = EMPOWERMENT.”

  • The event information:
  • Date: Tuesday, August 24, 2021
  • Time: 6:30-8:30 p.m.
  • Location: NoDa Co. Store, 3221 Yadkin Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28205

Complimentary hors d’oeuvres will be provided by our hosts. Chamber members will receive complimentary beverages.

The Carolinas LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce hopes to foster equity, inclusion and economic prosperity for the LGBTQ community through strategic policy, professional enrichment, ally partnerships and economic development.

The organization empowers small business entrepreneurs and professionals, collaborates with nonprofit advocates, and engages business and civic leaders to support policies that foster a more inclusive and welcoming business community.
