Woman devotes life to repaying kindness she was once shown at Crisis Assistance Ministry

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Where would you turn if you couldn’t make rent or pay your utility bill in the middle of winter?

Crisis Assistance Ministry helps people in those exact situations, including our “Growing the Dream” award winner.

As a young mother, Tchernavia Montgomery needed that financial help. But years later, she’s devoted her life to repaying the kindness she was once shown.

“As long as I am able to breathe, I will find a way to give back,” Montgomery said.
