• Fort Mill Summer Concert Series to help collect 9 School Tools donations

The Fort Mill Summer Concert Series is welcoming concert attendees to donate school supplies tomorrow at Veterans Park from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Donations will benefit students through the Foundation for Fort Mill Schools’ Classroom Ready program.

Leading the event, The Heart2Heart Foundation hopes to collect enough supplies to be distributed at Classroom Ready’s distribution event later this month.

“We are collecting supplies for the hundreds of students on free and reduced-fee lunch programs in Fort Mill,” said Sheila Caldwell, president and founder of The Heart2Heart Foundation. “These supplies will help provide resources [for those students].”

Donors over the age of 21 will be entered into a drawing to win two VIP tickets to The Heart2Heart Foundation’s 2020 Queen of Hearts Gala held Saturday, Feb. 1, in Rock Hill. Winners do not have to be present to win.

Tomorrow’s concert series will feature rhythm and blues from the Charlotte and Hickory-based band, The Extraordinaires. Food truck vendors will also be onsite.

In partnership with WSOC-TV’s 9 School Tools campaign, The Heart2Heart Foundation is collecting school supplies for students in grades K-12. These items play a big role in preparing students to be successful in the upcoming school year. The donations from 9 School Tools stay in the county where they're donated, so any items donated at the Fort Mill Summer Concert Series event will benefit students in the Fort Mill School District.
