Registration now open for 2019 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Parade

The City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County, through their Community Relations Committee, have come together to expand our community's observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day through the Charlotte-Mecklenburg MLK National Holiday Celebration.

Through honorable events held between Jan. 19-21, the community will celebrate those who are committed to carrying King's legacy forward from generation to generation.

A Charlotte tradition since 1981, the MLK Holiday Parade in Uptown Charlotte includes more than 100 community organizations, marching bands, floats and dance performers. The parade will be held on Saturday, Jan. 19 from 10 a.m. to noon. The route runs down Tryon Street from 9th Street to Stonewall Street.
