Tanglewood twinkles for the holidays

When Tanglewood Park’s first Festival of Lights opened in 1992, it was a 1.5-mile route with only 25 displays. Today, the route has grown to nearly five miles and features more than 100 displays.

You can see the 27th season of the park’s Festival of Lights nightly through Jan. 1, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. (The park will close at 10 p.m. on Dec. 31.)

Be sure to check out the gift shop and S'moresville, located at the Red Barn and approximately halfway through the lights show route, to find holiday crafts, wood workings, and other fine gifts made by local artisans.

Pro tip: Thursdays through Sundays are popular nights at Festival of Lights and long lines and wait times should be expected. If you can, visit Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays to avoid extended wait times.

Admission for family cars, vans and trucks costs $15.

Tanglewood Park is located at 4201 Manor House Circle in Clemmons, N.C.
