Country, classic rock acts fuel Speed Street festival

Speed Street festival in uptown Charlotte 

Corey Smith, Brothers Osborne and Styx will headline the 2019 Speed Street festival happening May 23-25 in uptown’s Romare Bearden Park.

Other acts performing include Abby Anderson, Caylee Hammack, Tyler Rich, Charity Case and Kannapolis' own Kameron Marlowe, who appeared on season 15 of “The Voice.”

Free tickets for Smith’s performance on Thursday can be picked up at any Circle K in North Carolina, South Carolina or Georgia.

Tickets for Friday and Saturday’s shows with Brothers Osborne and Styx start at $20.

In addition to concerts, the three-day event, which leads up to the Coca-Cola 600 race on May 26 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, features NASCAR driver and celebrity appearances, interactive displays and exhibits for all ages, among other race-related activities. Festivities kick off at noon each day on Tryon Street. Admission is free to the daytime activities.
