For race fans, it’s also a chance to see the stars of tomorrow – NASCAR stars such as Joey Logano, Chase Elliott and Austin Dillon cut their teeth on the short track at Charlotte – along with current Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series driver Bubba Wallace. The NASCAR star was a longtime Bojangles’ Summer Shootout competitor in his youth.

The eight-week series, which features Bandoleros and Legends cars racing on the speedway’s frontstretch quarter-mile, kicks off in June and runs through July. There's also a rotating roster of weekly attractions, such as school bus racing between principals and pastors, fireworks and a high heel dash.
