Each summer for as long as we can remember, families have flocked to Charlotte Motor Speedway for a night of high-octane fun at the Bojangles’ Summer Shootout.
For race fans, it’s also a chance to see the stars of tomorrow – NASCAR stars such as Joey Logano, Chase Elliott and Austin Dillon cut their teeth on the short track at Charlotte – along with current Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series driver Bubba Wallace. The NASCAR star was a longtime Bojangles’ Summer Shootout competitor in his youth.
The eight-week series, which features Bandoleros and Legends cars racing on the speedway’s frontstretch quarter-mile, kicks off in June and runs through July. There's also a rotating roster of weekly attractions, such as school bus racing between principals and pastors, fireworks and a high heel dash.
Gates open at 5 p.m., with racing beginning at 7 p.m.
Tickets cost $8 for adults. Kids 13 and under get free admission. Tickets can be purchased at the gate or in advance online at charlottemotorspeedway.com/tickets.
