• Southern Christmas Show ushers in holiday season


    Christmas will be here before you know it, and so will a popular Charlotte holiday tradition. The 51st annual Southern Christmas Show returns Nov. 8-18 to The Park Expo and Conference Center.

    Explore the charming shops of Olde Town, get in the holiday spirit with festive music, sample delicious food and take care of everyone on your list shopping with wares from over 450 merchants and vendors.

    Show hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays and Tuesday; all other days are open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

    Adult tickets cost $15 at the door or $13 online. Tickets for kids ages 6-12 cost $4. Children ages 5 and under are admitted free with a paying adult.

    New this year: If you’d like to try and beat the crowds, check out the early bird VIP admission from 8 to 10 a.m. Nov. 10 and Nov. 17. The cost is $19 online or at the door for those ages 13 and older. During these two hours, no wagons, strollers or carts will be allowed.

    The Park Expo and Conference Center is located at 800 Briar Creek Road in Charlotte. Parking costs $8 (cash only) at the gate.

    Parking tip: Avoid the long lines and park for free at the old Eastland Mall parking lot Nov. 10 and Nov. 17.  Complimentary shuttles will take guests to and from the show from 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. The parking lot is located at 5471 Central Ave.
