HUDSPETH - A fatal accident near the Speedway shut down Morehead Road in both directions near Hudspeth for over an hour.

Authorities have identified the victim as Carl Junson Parker, 25, of Concord.

“It sounded like…gunshots so I thought someone was shooting a gun off, and the next you thing you know we saw a bunch of people heading that way,” Theresa Hvasta said.

Hvasta went to check out the commotion near her campsite.  What she saw she describes as horrific, a motorcycle rider lying in the middle of Morehead Road.

“I cried,” Hvasta said. “I had no idea who he was, but just seeing the body lying there and knowing that he died.”

    Another woman began CPR.

“Everybody pulled together in that second,” Hvasta said. “The only thing they were concerned about was trying to help him, and revive him, which unfortunately didn’t work.”

Witnesses told Channel 9 two cars were involved in the crash along with that motorcycle.  A Channel 9 crew watched as investigators tried to figure out exactly what happened.

“It was in a split second,” Hvasta said. “One minute he was on his motorcycle and the next minute he was gone. It was hard.”
