Area church to feed more than 200 families Tuesday before Thanksgiving

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — University City Church will host its annual Thanksgiving dinner and serve more than 200 inner-city families at 6 p.m. Tuesday at 604 Doug Mayes Place.

This year, UCC will partner with the Community Culinary School of Charlotte to provide gourmet dinners and each family will receive a frozen turkey to take home.

The Community Culinary School will arrive at 5 p.m. While guests wait for dinner to be served at 6 p.m., Ultimate Barber Lounge will provide free haircuts to children and men to prepare them to look their best for the holiday season.

Immediately following the dinner guests will attend the special Thanksgiving service and each family will receive a frozen turkey.

To volunteer or donate a frozen turkey, contact John Dorsey, outreach director at University City Church, at 704-576-8995.
