    Updated:

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - East Craighead Road, between Raleigh Street and North Davidson Street, will be closed Monday morning and will not reopen until Monday, July 31 at 4 p.m.

The closure is necessary for LYNX Blue Line Extension construction and the freight railroad track realignment. As part of the freight track realignment, Norfolk Southern Railroad will build a new grade-crossing and spur track at Craighead Road. Blue Line contractors will also be working on Craighead Road to raise the pavement to meet the new grade of the railroad tracks.

Motorists should detour using North Tryon Street, Matheson Avenue, Jordan Place and North Davidson Street.
