Cloudy skies and chilly temps return Thursday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Clouds will return Thursday after bright sunshine blanketed the Charlotte area Wednesday afternoon.

The temperatures will stay down, in the upper 40s. A sprinkle here or there in the afternoon can't be ruled out, but it should stay mostly dry throughout the day.

Snow flurries can't be ruled out Thursday night, but again, little will be seen.

The conditions heading into the weekend continue to look positive. Temperatures will warm back to the lower 50s Friday and mid 50s Saturday. Rain is possible Saturday morning (and the mountains will see some light snow) but the rest of the weekend thereafter will remain dry.
