• Cold front coming Sunday, heavy rain Monday

CHARLOTTE - Nice weather in Charlotte will soon end as a storm forms along the Gulf Coast and heads toward the area.

The weather will be cloudy, breezy and noticeably cooler Sunday. Rain will not begin until Sunday night for the Charlotte area, but the South Carolina midlands may see light rain during the day.

Once the rain arrives it will become steadier before tapering off midday Monday.

There will be a chance for severe thunderstorms when the cold front moves through on Monday afternoon and evening. These storms could bring damaging winds late Monday. The WSOC weather team will be monitoring conditions.

Once the storm moves through there will be dry weather Tuesday through Friday. Rain totals of 1 inch or greater are possible.
