DOT crews ready for inclement weather

The North Carolina Department of Transportation will be putting brine on bridges and overpasses Wednesday night around the Charlotte just in case the rain freezes over.

Now, crews with the city of Charlotte plan to put down brine on all secondary roads, while the state DOT has called in a private contractor with about 15 more trucks.

They will be focusing on placing brine on overpasses and interstates just as a precaution.

The main concern for DOT crews will be the possible freezing temperatures in the morning.

They want to make sure all the bridges and overpasses are safe.
