Best chance for rain to come Wednesday

Temperatures reach the 90s Tuesday afternoon, but storms that had fired up in the Upstate of South Carolina have diminished some as they trek up Interstate 85.

The bottom line is a chance of widely scattered storms, at best, in Charlotte Tuesday evening.

A cold front is still poised to make a run Wednesday and slowly sag through the Carolinas through Thursday before finally settling just to our south.

The best chance of rain this week will be both Wednesday and Thursday before rain chances drop off behind the cold front.

As is typical for a summer front, don’t expect much of a cooldown.

Temperatures will be around 90 degrees through the weekend.
