Thursday marks 4th straight day above 90 degrees

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — We are still two days out until summer officially starts, but Thursday marks the fourth straight day with temperatures over 90 degrees.

This ties the longest stretch we had all last year.

More of the same is expected Saturday before a weak cold front takes the edge off of the heat late in the weekend and into early next week.

Thunderstorms are expected Thursday along Interstate 40. Indications are the storms will try to push into Charlotte by 5 p.m.

Some guidance brings a second line of storm in Thursday night.

The best chance for thunderstorms is Saturday with the cold front. Rain chances will dip a little for Sunday and Monday with the front to the south.
