LAKE NORMAN — There’s no question in Brett Krueger’s mind that the southern Lake Norman area needs and would support an upscale hotel.
“If you talk to Lowe’s, Davidson College and the Trump (golf) course, they are sending overnight guests to Charlotte and even Ballantyne for an upscale room,” he says.
Now, he’s planning one that he envisions will be better.

Krueger’s Sunset Cove Partners is developing a $33 million luxury spa resort in Iredell County, just north of the Mecklenburg line, and on the shores of Lake Norman. Sunset Cove will contain 82 rooms with plans to break ground in February.
The goal is to have the project ready for the first guests in summer 2021.
