'I see promise': Charlotte leaders look to revitalize Beatties Ford corridor

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte leaders hope a new committee will make it easier for families to afford a place to live that is safe.

Malcolm Graham said when he looks at the Beatties Ford corridor, he sees promise because it is one of the major thoroughfares that leads into uptown Charlotte.

This is Graham's second stint on the Charlotte City Council, but this time, he is leading the Great Neighborhood committee.

"Our goal is to make sure all Charlotte neighborhoods are great, safe and secure," Graham said. "The goal is making sure people are part of the change and not victims of it. If we revitalize the corridors, we can begin to revitalize the area around it."
