Driver identified after car hit his father's home in Denver

DENVER, N.C. — A car ran into a home early Thursday morning in Denver, Lincoln County officials told Channel 9.

It was reported around 3:30 a.m. in the 8200 block of Normandy Road.

Officials said there was serious damage to the home and the driver was taken to the hospital. The driver was identified as Dustin Berry.

Troopers said the car was a Ford Mustang.

Berry was taken by ground to CMC. Troopers said he was in critical condition.

Troopers said the house that Berry hit was owned by his father, though Berry did not live there. They did not say if speed or alcohol were factors.

The home is safe for the family to stay in, but they will not be able to use the bedroom the car crashed into.

Officials said there were no charges as of Monday morning, but there would be further investigation once his condition stabilizes.
