CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police had to close a section of Hawthorne Lane after a car flipped over Friday morning.
The accident happened around 9 a.m. near the intersection of Hawthorne and 7th Street, in front of Hawthorne's Pizza.
Police said the car hit a guide wire running to a power pole, causing it to flip.
Paramedics rushed one person from the overturned car to Carolinas Medical Center with serious injuries.
Police are investigating the crash.
