13-year-old girl scares off would-be home burglars

York County deputies are looking for two men they say broke into a home while a 13-year-old girl was home.
According to a police report, the teenager screamed and the men ran away.

A neighbor told Eyewitness News that her husband saw a strange red car pull into their quiet neighborhood Wednesday, then minutes later take off.

"He heard rocks being thrown and squealing tires and the car squeal out down the street," the woman said.

She said her husband didn't think much of it at first, but soon York County Deputies showed up.

According to a police report, the two suspects rang the doorbell repeatedly. When no one answered, they forced their way in the back door. The York County Sheriff's Office said a 13-year-old girl was home. She told deputies she yelled for them to get out, and they did.

Deputies alerted nearby police agencies but have not made an arrest yet.

The York County Sheriff's Office is looking for those men and the red car they were driving, possibly a Ford Escort.
