2 candidates for governor in Charlotte Tuesday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two candidates for governor will be in Charlotte on Tuesday.

Republican Pat McCrory and Democratic Lt. Gov. Walter Dalton agreed to speak at the North Carolina Technology Association Conference in uptown.

Dalton, who spoke first, emphasized his jobs plan.

Dalton said retraining programs at local universities and community colleges are key, as well as two tax incentive programs that encourage business to hire unemployed workers.
