20 people arrested in connection with 'Operation Summer Jam'

The North Carolina Department of Public Safety led a joint law enforcement operation in Cabarrus and Mecklenburg counties June 23-26 that resulted in the arrest of 20 people and the seizure of stolen firearms, cocaine, ecstasy, prescription pills, marijuana and money.
 
DPS Security Services led "Operation Summer Jam," which targeted high-risk offenders and their associates who were on probation or parole. 
 
In Mecklenburg County, 29 searches were conducted and five firearms were seized, four of which had been stolen.  Officers also seized 20 grams of cocaine, 60 grams of marijuana and $10,292 in currency.
 
In Cabarrus County, officers conducted 20 searches and seized four firearms, $900 in currency, 100 grams of marijuana and 10 ecstasy and prescription pills.
 
DPS probation officers from Cabarrus and Mecklenburg counties worked with the Kannapolis and Concord police departments, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department gang and patrol units, the Cabarrus, Charlotte and Mecklenburg counties' sheriff's offices, State Highway Patrol, United States Marshals Service Western District Violent Offender Task Force and the Federal Bureau of Investigation Safe Streets Task Force.
 
Arrested in Mecklenburg County were:

Shamon Goins, 24, robbery with a dangerous weapon.
 
Tydarrien Ford, 19, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
 
Matthew Brown, 26, misdemeanor probation violation, Possession with intent to sell and distribute cocaine, maintaining a dwelling place for a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
 
Chico Caldwell, 26, felony post release violation, felony possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana.
 
Dondrae Stewart, 21, felony probation violation, possession of stolen firearm, possession of firearm by a felon and carrying a concealed weapon.
 
William Ellis, 20, felony probation violation, felony post release violation, possession of firearm by a felon, resisting a public officer, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of stolen firearm and assault on a law enforcement officer with a firearm.
 
Dupree Thompson, 21, a probation absconder, felony post release violation and felony probation violation.
 
Des-Mon Thompson, 23, a West Coast Blood Stone Villain gang member, felony probation violation, robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
 
Khadius Marshall, 18, four felony probation violations and conspiracy robbery with a dangerous weapon.
 
Carlos Almonte, 24, possession of firearm by a felon, felony post release violation and possession of marijuana.
 
Jesus Rodriguez, 23, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of stolen firearm, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
 
Robert McClinton, 24, felony probation violation, misdemeanor marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
 
Ahkeem Hardwich, 22, misdemeanor marijuana possession.
 
Glenn Gray, 23, misdemeanor marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Arrested in Cabarrus County were:
 
Haywood Forte, 23, felony probation violation, possession of firearm by a felon, possession with intent to sell and distribute marijuana, maintaining a dwelling place for a controlled substance and felony possession of marijuana.
 
Chris Grisconis, 18, three felony probation violations - possession of firearm by a felon, and PWISD marijuana.
 
James Bellamy, 18, misdemeanor probation violation. 
 
Jonathan Blakeney, 21, possession of schedule V substance and drug paraphernalia.
 
James Quinn, 25, simple possession schedule VI.
 
Chris Whitaker, 28, possession with intent to distribute MDA/MDMA and possession drug paraphernalia.
 
The state's probation and parole officers supervise offenders' activities in the community and ensure their compliance with court orders and sanctions.
