24-year-old shot at shopping center in Mint Hill, police say

MINT HILL, N.C. — A 24-year-old man was shot Monday night at the Idlewild Plaza in Mint Hill, police said.

Officers arrived at the strip mall at Margaret Wallace and Idlewild roads at about 6:30 p.m. and found the shooting victim lying on the sidewalk in front of a business.

The man was conscious and taken to Atrium Health Main.

The victim may have been targeted, and the shooting does not appear to be random.

There was no word on any arrests.
