3 of 5 accused in teen's shooting death make first appearance Wednesday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Three of the five teenagers who were accused of killing a Charlotte student on Tuesday will face a judge for the first time on Wednesday.

The five are in custody in connection with 15-year-old K.C. Curry's death.

Detectives say the five were inside an SUV Sunday evening when one of them shot and killed Curry outside a home in East Mecklenburg County.

According to police, Curry did not know the suspect, but there was some sort of confrontation the night before where the shooter felt that Curry had disrespected him over a girl.
