3 back-to-back shootings in Lancaster leave 1 injured, police say

LANCASTER, S.C. — The Lancaster Police Department is investigating three shootings that happened less than four hours apart over the weekend.

According to police, the first was at about 11:30 p.m. Friday near Pardue Street Apartments. Officers said four vehicles were struck and no one was injured.

Officers were still investigating the first shooting when the second happened shortly before 1 a.m. Saturday on Ferguson Street. Police said officers heard the shots and saw a large cloud of smoke coming from the area.

While investigating, police said an officer found a car that appeared to be leaving the scene. Police said the car quickly pulled into the parking lot of the Municipal Justice Center. That’s when the driver got out and ran to the officer’s patrol car saying he had been shot and needed medical attention.

The man was transported by Lancaster County EMS to a nearby medical facility, where he was treated for an apparent gunshot wound to an upper extremity.

Just a couple of hours later, at about 3 a.m., officers were called to Caroline Court for shots fired. Police said the investigators found nothing on Saturday, but a resident discovered evidence of a shooting after returning home on Monday morning. Police said two windows and a door were shot. There were no injuries reported in this incident.

All of the cases are still under investigation by the Lancaster Police Department. No arrests have been made at this time.
