3 teens charged in string of vehicle break-ins, CMPD says

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police arrested three teenagers in a string of vehicle break-ins in the Steele Creek area in southwest Charlotte.

Police arrested Charles Douglas, 18, Tuesday, who was driving a stolen SUV.

Douglass confessed to his role in the break-ins and faces 18 counts of breaking-and-entering into a vehicle and faces several other charges.

Kailah Jones, 17, and Cordell Peters, 19, were also charged in connection to the crime spree.

Detectives said more charges could be filed.
