YORK COUNTY, S.C. — The York County sheriff awarded three of his deputies with Medals of Honor Thursday for rescuing a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer who was shot in the line of duty.
In January, Officer Shane Page was shot while serving an arrest warrant on a robbery suspect in Fort Mill.
Lt. Chris Blevins, Master Deputy Greg Garrison and Master Deputy Jason Powell helped stop the gunman and carry Page to safety.
He has since made a full recovery.
