4 people taken to hospital after North Charlotte house fire

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte firefighters told Channel Nine that they rescued four family members from a house fire on Astoria Drive Saturday morning.

Firefighters said heavy smoke was coming from the home when they arrived at the scene around 2 a.m. Officials said that it took less than 15-minutes to bring the fire under control.

According to the fire department, the four family members were taken to the hospital after they were rescued.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
