CHARLOTTE, N.C. — An 8-year-old girl is on a mission to help the homeless in our community with a simple gift -- a blanket.
Nahla ElBate-Fuentes told Channel 9 seeing the homeless in Charlotte made her sad, so she wanted to do something to help keep them warm this winter.

She decided to start selling baked treats and asked her mom to help her create a GoFundMe account so she can raise money to buy blankets.
"I have all this stuff and I'm staying healthy and I have what I need to be able to survive, and I don't think most of the homeless will survive the winter because it's been really cold," she said.
Her goal is to raise $100 to buy 10 to 15 blankets.
Help Nahla raise money here.
