• Car crashes into Wendy's

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. - A vehicle crashed into a Wendy's at the corner of Eastway Drive and Central Avenue at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, closing the intersection.

    Officials said the driver had a seizure and crashed into another vehicle that hit a power pole knocking power lines which fell onto the road.

    One person was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

    At 11:15 p.m., one lane on the Eastway Drive and Central Avenue intersection was open, and police were directing traffic around the scene.
