Alternate routes to avoid uptown St. Patrick's Day weekend chaos

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Pedestrian traffic and road closures are ahead this St. Patrick’s Day weekend as the Charlotte Goes Green Festival and Parade both happen Saturday in uptown.

Closures start Saturday morning at 5 a.m. as 3,000 marchers and 45,000 people attend the parade on North Tryon Street between Ninth and Third streets.
