Another former Panthers player just sold his home here

CHARLOTTE — Another former Carolina Panthers player has sold his local home, not long after it hit the market. The sale of former Panthers fullback Mike Tolbert’s home in Weddington logged in at $2.25 million, said listing broker David Hoffman.

That nearly 9,800-square-foot, custom-built home came on the market Sept. 17 at just shy of $2.4 million. It went under contract five days later.

Included in the deal was a helmet signed by Tolbert for the new owners’ two sons, said Hoffman, of Charlotte residential real estate brokerage the David Hoffman Group.

The residential sale comes on the heels of NFL veteran quarterback Josh McCown, who spent a short stint of his playing time with the Panthers, selling his SouthPark-area home earlier this month for just north of $3.7 million.
