Armed, masked man robs Hickory convenience store

HICKORY — Investigators in Hickory say a masked man held up a gas station clerk on Friday night across the street from an elementary school.

The clerk at Propst Superette on Section House Road was not injured and told officers the man was carrying a gun. He said the man walked in and demanded money. The suspect got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Hickory police responded to the call with a K9, who picked up the suspect's scent but lost it.
Investigators do not have a good description of the suspect.
